  5. Weekly Roundup 4
First of all, Happy 18th Birthday to my lovely friend Jessica! Second of all, I am now back on the daily grind unfortunately despite the fact that I didn't attend my first day back at uni of semester two... I'm not sure if anyone noticed but I did in fact skip last week's post (so much for consistency) mainly because nothing really exciting happened that week besides going to see How To Train Your Dragon 2 with my brother. It was amazing, how cute is Toothless? I did make a stupid mistake of booking the tickets for Tuesday instead of Wednesday but let's not delve into that.

This past week was definitely one of the worst and best weeks of this year so far. Although, I spent much of this week worried, anxious and crying, I did receive some incredible news that I am extremely excited about but can't yet share! I did get up to some shenanigans which you can find out more about below.

Monday 21st July
On Monday morning, Thi and I set out to have breakfast and see where the day would take us. We had an early start after dropping Loi off at school around 8, so we headed to Ananas Espresso in Graceville for some much needed food and coffee. I had always taken notice of this place every time I drive by so we decided to try it out. It's a quaint little place with both indoor and outdoor seating area. Thi and I opted to sit outside much to our dismay that the heaters weren't working. Breakfast and coffees ordered, we didn't have to wait that long for either to arrive and once the gas tank in the heater was changed we were warm and enjoying our morning feed. I had the smashed avocado on sourdough with scrambled eggs which was very yummy and also cheap!

After breakfast we headed over to Mt. Ommaney to do a bit of retail therapy despite the fact that neither of us really needed to buy anything. I ended up buying two midi skirts because I had always wondered what they would looked like on me and turns out its not too bad! What do you think? Plus they were only 10 dollars each so why not. Thi and I also decided to buy some Sims 3 expansion packs because we were bored of the just the base game. After the shopping trip we headed back to my place to have a mess around with the new Sims additions to our game.

Thursday 24th July
Surprise surprise Thursday was spent hanging out with Thi again. I was away in la-la land when I was woken up by a constant flow of one word Whatsapp messages from Thi asking if I would like to go out for breakfast with her. I agreed and after a long discussion of where we should go we set of to Mt Gravatt to fulfil our pancake craving at Pancake Manor. Coincidentally we both decided on wearing blue stripes and grey without discussing what we had planned on wearing that day. For some reason Thi thought that the closest PM was at Ipswich and I didn't mention that there was one closer and for that I received a slap on the arm. We ordered our usual when we arrived, eggs benedict as well as a serve of the short stack. It was extremely delicious.

As always with our bellies full, we walked around the shopping centre slowly not actually purchasing anything. We ended up in Big W staring yet again at its selection of Sims 3 expansion packs. After standing there for awhile eliminating those that we did not eagerly we wanted to install we made the smart decision to forgo the tech counter and go straight to the self serve check out. Once we had arrived back at my place, I opened the case to install the first of three games that we bought and of course I instantly thought that for some reason it wasn't sealed and voila no disc. After getting over the stupidity and embarrassment of what we had come to realise, we called up Big W to see if we could come pick up the games another day, neither of us wanted to sit in the car for the trip. Unfortunately they prefer if t they are picked up ASAP so we made the trek back to Big W and headed back to my place to finally install the newest expansion packs.

Saturday 26th July
I am very saddened by the fact that I missed out on Splendour in the Grass this year but definitely going to make it next year! Missed out on Sam Smith and City and Colour but luckily Two Door dropped out this year. After reluctantly going to work on Saturday and waiting for Mum to come pick me up after the storm made its appearance, it was time to get ready for Jessica's 18th Birthday party! I had to rush everything because I was getting a lift from Nhung and her mum had plans.

The night turned out to be pretty fun celebrating Jessica's birthday with cake, numerous bottles of Belvedere and Jennie's 'fishing rod'. Things started winding up around midnight as everyone made plans to head out for The Met. Below are some photos from the night, Happy Birthday to Jess!

This coming week:
Back to university this week unfortunately, even though I don't have the faintest idea what I spent my five-week holiday doing. Of four days I'm probably going to attend two days this week because I can't find a lift now that I am at the Ipswich campus. Can we just think about how creepy it is that the Ipswich campus used to be an asylum for a second?

Extra:
Became number 1 in the Kim K game, is it obvious that I don't have a life?

  4. Weekly Roundup 3
Welcome back to the third edition of the Weekly Roundup! I am extremely happy that there is some consistency in my life now. It's quite chilly at the moment as I write this huddled in a blanket, sipping on my banana and mango smoothie as an episode of the SacconeJolys plays in the background. Can we just acknowledge how cute Emilia and Eduardo are? (Ignore that if you have no idea who the SacconeJolys are... or don't! Check them out on YouTube). This past week has done some damage to my bank account, spending my week's pay when I made a deal with my brother to put 120 into the bank.... uh oh.

Monday 7th July
I recall spending Monday morning in bed probably catching up on Youtube videos after working the whole weekend. Sometime in the afternoon around 2pm, Thi asked if I wanted to join her on a Maccas run to get some soft serves, of course I agreed. While we were waiting in the drive-thru we spontaneously decided to go to Indooroopilly with no intentions of buying anything. Thi probably spent around 200 buying some new Nike gear and I ended up buying my fourth pair of Windsor Smith shoes... So much for saving. But they were only 39 down from 89 so I scored a deal. When I returned home, I had to come to realise that all four pairs of my WS shoes are all different sizes from 7.5-8.5... I obviously don't want all of my shoes to be the same size. But funnily enough, they all fit in their own way.

After spending the afternoon with Thi, when Mum arrived home from work, we went to get our nails done. I had tagged along just to get my eyebrows waxed but then Mum told me to just get a mani/pedi which is kind of ruined now, one week later. My toes look fine, it's really just my fingernails because I tend to wash the dishes and shower in really hot water. Nonetheless I loved the robin egg blue whilst it lasted.

Tuesday 8th July
On Tuesday I had a dentist appointment at 10:30 and I had spent majority of the morning lazing around and was brushing my teeth when my brother came home to take me which was when he saw me in that current state he was sure to exclaim that I wasn't even ready! It's only because I know I can easily get ready in 10 minutes flat. While I was getting my teeth done, Lam and Bec had gone to Pathology so Bec could get a blood test done and ended up buying a tallboy. Turned out the tallboy was just a little bit too big which meant that my seat was pushing me forward as we went to Darra to pick up some BMTs. Bec needed a pick me up after her needles despite the fact that Lam and Bec both stated I was worse off because I had two needles to the face.

After I was dropped off at home, an hour later Thi picked me up so we could grab lunch and go back to Indro to pick up her new Nike Roshe Run shoes. After throwing the names of multiple restaurants into the air, we decided on Yum Cha as we waited for the shoes to arrive (they were being sent from Garden City). We indulged in our favourites and were extremely pleased it only was $30 between the two of us. After we picked up the shoes, we went back to my place and started to play Sims 3! I used to be obsessed (let's be real, I still am) with the first Sims and also Sims 2! I'm sure a lot of my parents money went to buying most of the Sims 2 expansion packs. I'll insert a photo of the Sims I still have and when I get the others back from Vy I'll be sure to show you how horrid my obsession is. Let's not start on how much I want Sims 4 when it's released in September. Sims is much more fun when you're playing it with someone else.

Wednesday 9th July
Wednesday was very much like Monday, spent the morning catching up on a few YouTube videos and a spontaneous shopping trip in the afternoon, but this time with Marie. We headed to DFO after dropping her Mum off at work so she could buy some shoes for a party on Saturday night. We spent awhile in the Windsor Smith/Lipstik store and I resisted causing more damage to my bank balance as hard as it was. The shoes were so pretty! After trying on multiple pairs, Marie decided on buy the same shoe in both black and white, because why not! We then went into Typo where they had an extra 30% off already reduced items so we both bought some stuff. Afterwards we went to Mt Ommaney to get a late lunch, a cheeky McDonalds meal for the both of us.

Friday 11th July
Vy's 18th Birthday! I can't believe I've known Vy for probably 13 years now, definitely one of my oldest friends. I hope she had a fabulous 18th birthday. Friday morning I went to Inala with Dad to restock on some food, mainly granola and some fixings for lunch. I ended up making an enormous salad which I only could manage to eat half of while I watched Bob's Burgers. The show is stupidly funny and I love it.

On Friday night, the lovely Nhung and Thuy invited me out to dinner and of course I agreed before asking Mum if I could go. She wasn't the happiest, going on about how late it was etc. Guys, it was 7pm when I left. We headed to Sunnybank to get some food for Nhung, since it was only her that was hungry and after a parking disaster in Market Square we headed over to the shopping centre instead. After wandering around Nhung decided on Mos Burger. We sat there and caught up and took some silly photos as Thuy wrestled with the knots buried in her hair. The first panorama is stuffed up because I just cracked up when I saw how Nhung's faced turned out. It was a nice night filled with giggles and listening to Pills & Potions in the car.

Saturday 12th July & Sunday 13th of July
I can't believe we're pretty much half way through July already, it's absolutely insane. Surprisingly didn't go to the Sunday Markets this week even though I'm sure Mum really wanted to go. Work was pretty much the same as always besides that I shattered my phone again! I'm extremely annoyed at myself for dropping it again but I don't think it's worth fixing it again, now that I just want to get a new phone. Normally I wouldn't include the weekend in these Roundups because nothing much happens but I just wanted to share the delicious free food I eat when I'm there.

This upcoming week:
Bounce on Tuesday night with the girls, possibly going to Cowch (YAY), going to see How To Train Your Dragon 2 with my brother and a driving lesson on Thursday. Who knows what else but I guess you'll find out in a week's time in the next edition of Weekly Roundup.

  3. Healthy Food
I try my best to choose the healthier option but it is incredibly difficult to resist when you salivate at the sound of fries and a burger. I personally find the biggest struggle with eating healthy is keeping up a schedule. Breakfast is the easiest for me because I'm at home by myself and there's no other food whereas for lunch and dinner, I'll usually have leftovers from dinner the previous night or Dad makes some delicious food that I can't resist. On the nights that Dad hasn't made any new food, I'll try and concoct something of my own. Most days, I try to drink as much water as I can and I believe that has reflected on my skin now that I have less acne. I'm also trying to get in the habit of drinking one cup of green tea everyday because it is full of antioxidants.

  2. Weekly Roundup 2
Encased in the warmth of my bedroom heater and mug of green tea with my freshly painted nails in a gorgeous robin egg blue, I give to you my second instalment of weekly roundup. Not a lot has occurred within the last week, mainly composed of 9am wake-ups and the vast majority of the day spent snuggled in bed on my laptop. How obvious is it that I lack face-to-face contact with my friends? Thus this post will be on the shorter side with nothing much to report. I was hoping that this blog post would've been up much earlier in the day but after driving my brother's new car, YouTube videos, a spontaneous ice cream and shopping trip with my bestie, getting a mani/pedi and improving my eyebrow game, it's pretty much the end of the day.

Thursday 3rd June & Friday 4th June
Thursday afternoon was spent food shopping with mum. Bought so little and the total came up to about 50 dollars... Trying to eat more healthy is a little more expensive considering the bag of black chia seeds was 10 dollars alone. On Friday I went to the Sabo Skirt Warehouse sale in Sailsbury with some of the girls and managed to score two dresses and a top for 80 bucks. Sounds expensive but considering how much Sabo Skirt pieces usually retail for, I scored a good bargain. But then I found out that the next two days of the sale, the ongoing deal was fill a bag for $100.. I have never felt so jipped in my life. But what's done is done.

Sunday 6th July
Another early morning wakeup courtesy of mum at 5:20am. Since I am on semester break at this given time, I thought I would reluctantly leave the warmth of my bed early every Sunday morning before uni takes over my life again. As per this season, waking up hella early meant hella cold weather... I did managed to score two more additions to my wardrobe, a striped dress for $10 and an old Sabo Skirt piece for $7. I swear the only thing I am good at is scoring a good bargain!

This upcoming week:
Not much is happening in this week, a dentist appointment tomorrow (ugh, fillings) and a driving lesson on Thursday after pussying out last week because my lesson the previous week didn't go over so well...
